The Fox River Motel,located in downtown Seney, is open all year around to accommodate all sporting and tour enthusiasts through the changing seasons in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. You can always count on a clean room and excellent service at the Fox River Motel while you're fishing the Fox River Basin, hunting the plentiful game, witnessing the grouse mating dance, viewing the hardwoods during their fall color change, or snowmobiling and ATVing right from your room.
Lodging: We are a nonsmoking facility IAW Michigan state law. We have 13 motel units and one lodge. All our motel units have coffee pots, phones, cable TV, micro/fridge, and air conditioning. Kitchen units and kitchenette rooms are available. Kitchens units include a gas stove/oven, double sink, full size refrigerator, microwave, and dinette area. Kitchenette rooms feature a 2 burner electric stove, small sink and compact refrigerator. Both are equipped with a coffee pot, toaster, cooking supplies and dinnerware for 4. Please call or e-mail for availability and rate information. The lodge is newly renovated, has a completely new kitchen, 2 new bathrooms, and 4 bedrooms sleeping 8-10. General Area: The Fox River Motel is Located in the heart of Seney. Once the most infamous lumber town in the Upper Peninsula, it is now a small historical town with some of the best hunting and fishing in the area. Your host can give you tips but guide service will cost you extra.
Seney offers a tavern, a restaurant, two gas stations, 24 hour ATM, post office and party store. The Township Recreation Park is located right next door the Fox River Motel equipped with a playground, basket hoops, sand volleyball court and winter ice rink.
We are located located just 4 miles from the Seney National Wildlife Refuge, walking distance to the Fox River, at the gateway to the Pictured Rock National Lakeshore and a 45 minute drive to Tahquamenon Falls. The trail head to the Fox River Pathway, a 28 mile hiking trial thru State Forest is only 1 mile from the motel. Drop off and pick up points can be arranged with your hosts. Snowmobile right from your motel room to any of the 3 trail heads that come into Seney. Don't have a snowmobile. That's okay. We have rentals too. You can make the Fox River Motel the hub for all your eastern Upper Peninsula activities.
